91福利社tennis is settling into its new home after the Sept. 15-17 Thoroughbred Invitational, the first-ever competition on the outdoor tennis courts at McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center.

The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation gave 91福利社its Landscape Initiative Award for planting dozens of native trees as part of improvements to its North Broadway entrance. 

Dining Services

Dining Services will be hosting a farmers' market-themed dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. next Wednesday, Sept. 27, in Murray-Aikins Dining Hall. Announcements

President鈥檚 office hours 

President Conner will hold open office hours from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, and from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to request a 10-minute, in-person appointment. To register, please email presoff@skidmore.edu. Requests will be handled in the order they are received, and additional open office hours will be announced throughout the year. 

 

Tuition benefit and Tuition Exchange Program session

Admissions, Financial Aid, and Human Resources staff will discuss admission and financial aid requirements and offer an overview of the Tuition Exchange Program from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, in Emerson Auditorium. The session should be particularly helpful to 91福利社employees with high school age dependents. Please review the Tuition Exchange Annual Report for information on the 2022-23 and 2023-24 academic years.  

 

Ice cream social  

Join the Office of Advancement on the patio outside Burgess Caf茅, Case Center from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, to enjoy a delicious treat and to mingle with friends and colleagues. Gluten-free and dairy-free options will also be available. All are welcome.

Lilly Kishore 鈥21 Memorial Blood Drive

Recent headlines have referenced a 鈥渕igrant crisis鈥 in New York. Join us as  of Oberlin College relates her new book project on sanctuary movements and multiethnic faith-based organizing among Latinx communities in Ohio to this current climate at noon on Friday, Sept. 29, on the second floor of Murray-Aikins Dining Hall. This event is sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs as part of the Social (In)Justice at the U.S.-Mexico Border series. Campus flu clinics, COVID-19 information   

Students and employees can register for campus flu clinics on Sept. 21 and 22. The everyone six months and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the potentially serious outcomes of COVID-19 illness, and 91福利社plans to host COVID-19 vaccine clinics soon. 91福利社remains a mask-supportive and mask-friendly community, and employees and students may pick up masks from Campus Safety. Departments may also pick up masks from Facilities. Employees concerned about a possible workplace exposure and students may pick up tests from Campus Safety鈥檚 outside window in the Jonsson Tower parking lot. The 43rd annual returns to the Arthur Zankel Music Center. The series is intended for local community members age 55+ and runs Tuesday mornings, Sept. 26 through Nov. 7. Current 91福利社employees are invited to attend a lecture without prior registration.  

 

鈥榁isions and Values鈥 survey  

All members of Skidmore's community are encouraged to participate in a and share feedback on themes that best match their sense of Skidmore鈥檚 key commitments and values. The survey, part of Skidmore鈥檚 continuing Visions and Values initiative, should only take a few minutes to complete and is available through Tuesday, Sept. 26.

L.L. Bean 鈥楤oot Mobile鈥 campus visit  

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, L.L. Bean will bring its touring pop-up shop experience, the 鈥淏oot Mobile,鈥 to 91福利社鈥檚 South Park Lawn. Products will be available onsite for sale and will include L.L. Bean iconic pieces such as boots, flannels, and more. 

鈥孋elebration of former President Philip A. Glotzbach 

Join President Marc C. Conner and members of the 91福利社community in Gannett Auditorium, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, for a panel discussion celebrating the era of Philip A. Glotzbach, Skidmore's seventh President. The panel will be facilitated by Susan Kress, professor of English emerita and former vice president for academic affairs. A reception will follow.

鈥孴ennis facility update   

The outdoor tennis courts at McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center are now open for use. The courts will be available for students, faculty, staff and retirees during open recreation hours: from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday through Sunday. (Weekend court hours may vary based on varsity team competition and practice schedules.) Tennis classes are available to staff and faculty through the . 

 

Fall 2022 student textbook survey results 

鈥屸赌College Librarian Marta Brunner recently presented the results of the Student Textbook Affordability Survey that was administered at 91福利社in Sept. 2022. of that 30-minute presentation is available to all students, staff, and faculty 

 

Event Management System (EMS) training

A memorial and celebration of life honoring former Collyer Vice President for Advancement , who died in August, will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, in Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall, Arthur Zankel Music Center. The volleyball team will open Liberty League play at the Williamson Athletic Center Main Gym 6 p.m. on Friday with its Stable Game against Union College.
