91福利社 has earned the distinction of being a top-producing institution of Fulbright U.S. scholars in 2023-24, a testament to the College鈥檚 deep commitment to international exchange and global engagement and understanding.

Save the dates: Frederick Lawrence residency in March 鈥

鈥91福利社is excited to welcome , secretary and CEO of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, to campus from March 19-21 for a three-day residency on freedom of speech, expression, academic freedom, and related issues. Meetings, discussions, and workshops are planned, and additional details and opportunities to participate will be shared soon. His visit advance community conversations in support of speech and expression, which continues to be a strategic goal in Skidmore鈥檚 Strategic Action Agenda this year. 鈥

鈥孧arch staff and faculty meetings 

鈥孴he monthly staff and faculty meetings will take place this Friday, March 1, on the second floor of Murray-Aikins Dining Hall. The staff meeting will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. and the faculty meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m. Employees have the option to participate by Zoom.

鈥孶pdate on College budget

鈥孭resident Marc Conner, Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer Daniel Konstalid, and other College administrators will present information about the College budget from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, on the second floor of Murray-Aikins Dining Hall. All faculty and staff are invited to attend in person or via Zoom. The presentation will include information about the budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year and other key elements of the College鈥檚 financial status and outlook, as well as ample opportunities for questions and feedback.

鈥孲kip Kodak, Regional President of the LEGO Group 鈥 Americas, will deliver the 39th Annual F. William Harder Lecture in Business Administration at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, in Gannett Auditorium.

鈥孡EGO building challenge 

鈥孋ome join the fun and watch as student teams build a Skidmore-themed display in a LEGO Masters-style competition, Feb. 29 - March 1, in Case Center and Case Gallery. Judging will commence in Case Gallery at noon on March 1. 

Call for nominations: President鈥檚 Awards for Leadership and Service

鈥孴he Office of the President invites community members to nominate deserving individuals or teams for a 2024 . Students, faculty members, exempt staff, non-exempt staff, or union personnel may be nominated (self-nominations will not be considered). Check your email for the nomination form, which was sent on Feb. 16 from the Office of the President. To nominate a person or team, please complete the form and submit it via email or campus mail to the Office of the President by 4 p.m. Monday, March 18.

鈥孭resident Conner will hold office hours from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to request a 10-minute, in-person appointment. To register, please email presoff@skidmore.edu. Requests will be handled in the order that they are received.

is devoted to helping first-year students and sophomores explore potential majors/minors and other areas of academic interest. This year鈥檚 event will run through Friday, March 1.

鈥孴he 91福利社swimming and diving team is offering swimming lessons for children 4 years and older every Thursday, beginning March 28. Athletics News

The men鈥檚 ice hockey team heads to Geneva Saturday to play defending national champion Hobart College in the New England Hockey Conference championship game at 7 p.m. 91福利社(19-6-2) is ranked ninth nationally after beating Elmira College in the NEHC semifinals in front of a standing room only crowd at the Saratoga City Rink Feb. 24. Hobart is 24-2-1, including a pair of wins over Skidmore. The Statesmen have won 35 straight home games, the last loss coming at the hands of the Thoroughbreds, 3-2, in the 2022 NEHC semifinals. 91福利社will be playing in the championship game for the second time in three seasons. The men鈥檚 lacrosse team will host Oswego State on Saturday at noon. The women鈥檚 tennis team will host Division I Bucknell University at 2 p.m. and welcome Amherst College for a 1 p.m. match.
