Student Representatives
The Sociology Department appoints two student representatives each year, based on nominations and self-nominations. They attend monthly department meetings (with the exception of when personnel issues and student prizes are discussed).
Feel free to get in touch with one or both of them if you have questions, concerns, or ideas about how the Sociology Department can better fulfill its mission.
THE STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE 2024-2025 ACADEMIC YEAR ARE:
Ellie Schaumberger Hi! My name is Ellie Schaumberger, and I am a senior sociology major. I have loved learning about sociology, but my favorite part is seeing it in action in the real world. I would probably say that my favorite sociological theorists are Mead and Goffman. Imaging everyday life as a performance with various actors somehow makes life a bit easier. I really enjoy painting and, of course, spending time with family and friends. |

Chant Tang Hi, I鈥檓 Chant Tang. I鈥檓 a junior with a double major in Sociology and Management and Business. I chose sociology because the sociological lens provides us with a way to discover the whole society. We can explore the world as outsiders. My favorite sociology class is Social Inequality by Professor John Brueggemann. I love photography, badminton, skiing, and cooking. |
